Residents and businesses operating in Akwa Ibom State are in for better times as the state government is set to ensure that 24 hours power supply target is realized in the state.
Speaking with newsmen last week in the state, the Commissioner for finance, Mr. Akan Okon dropped this hint.
Mr. Okon who said the government of Mr. Udom Emmanuel is still very passionate and focused on industrializing the state, said the state government has remained resolute trying to ensure that it create an enabling environment for industries to thrive.
Mr. Akan Okon who explained that one of the major problems plaguing setting up of industries or running the existing one was power supply maintained that the state government is working assiduously to ensure the electricity supply stabilizes in the state.
The commissioner who lamented the situation whereby industries depend on sourcing power from generators which ought to be a standby alternative as their main source said that such affects the profit margin of such businesses as a large chunk of money generated goes into buying fuel and assured that within the shortest possible time, Akwa Ibom state would start enjoying uninterrupted power supply.
