The people of Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, were on Wednesday enthusiastic when Sisters of Udom Emmanuel (SUE), a socio-political organization, stormed the area.
The group, led by the Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Mrs Aidy Thomas, in its usual way, in what was described as an “Extension of Governor’s Love”, paid a humanitarian termed visit to the Ikot Ekpene Plaza for a lunch with citizens of the raffia city.
The citizens were treated to excitement as they ate, danced and participated in various competitions including Dakkada Creed recitation where they were rewarded with clothes, cash sum of money and other relief materials.
Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Marketing and Brand Management, Mr Sam Edoho, sensitised the people of the area in the Dakkada philosophy, the need for every Akwa Ibomite to start up something for themselves not waiting for the government.
Sisters of Udom Emmanuel, since the time of campaign during the 2015 elections, has been supporting the cause of the Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, and his wife, Martha, of ensuring adequate healthcare to all Akwa Ibom people, settling the bills of patients while also providing provisions and toiletries in addition to cash donations.
It consists of women from Onna Local Government Area of the State either by birth or marriage.
