The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has acknowledged the power of God in the last one year and four months of his administration.

The Governor, who credited the achievements of the state government to divine intervention, made the remarks on Sunday evening at the end of the Quarterly partnership with the Holy Spirit held at the Government House Banquet Hall, Uyo.

Governor Emmanuel, accompanied to the prayer session by his Deputy, Mr Moses Ekpo, both members of the National Assembly, House of Assembly, State Executive Council, senior aides to the Governor, Party Executives and senior, testified to the grace of God in piloting the affairs of the state.

He said the projects so far executed by his administration and ongoing projects were products of answered prayers by God and the ceaseless intercessions of the saints in Akwa Ibom State.

Governor Emmanuel noted that despite the paucity of funds in the country, the deep recession the country is currently plunged into and the dramatic folding up of major businesses, Akwa Ibom State still enjoys divine assistance in convincing foreign investors to keep faith with the state.

He assured that no sooner than later, the people of the state will experience more physical testimonies in the areas of investments, industrialization and wealth creation.

In his message, the Guest Minister and General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Bible Church, Pastor W F Kumuyi charged the Government and people of Akwa Ibom state to be firm and confront the challenges facing it.

Drawing inspiration from the Book of Numbers, chapter 13, Pastor Kumuyi said that the land of Akwa Ibom State can be likened to the biblical land of Canaan flowing with milk and honey, with bountiful resources.

He noted that only a positive spirit and can-do, such as the one exhibited by Caleb who was sent to spy the land of Canaan will take Akwa Ibom to an enviable height.

Several intercessory prayers were offered for the state including prayers for the prosperity of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, prayers for the actualization of Government’s development plans an dreams, prayers for the peace and stability in Akwa Ibom State and prayers against anti government and anti development forces in the state.

The September edition of the Quarterly Partnership with the Holy Spirit also featured choir ministrations, hymns, praise and worship.

“Our help in ages past hope for years to come, we beseech God to sharpen our vision and imbibe us with the vision to steer the ship of the state to safe harbours. I have come to lay the responsibilities of that office at God’s feet and submit myself to him to use in accomplishing His will for this blessed land named after Him.”
