An indigenous construction company in Akwa Ibom State, Seyang Nigeria Limited, has charged Engineers in the countryto live up to their responsibilities.
The Managing Director of Seyang Limited, Engr. Samuel Inyang, stated this on Wednesday when the executive members of The Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch paid a courtesy call to him in his office in Ikot Ekpene.
Engr. Inyang charged Engineers in the country to go back to their drawing board of creativity, saying: “Nigeria can get out of its present economic woes if Engineers could do their works.”
The Chairman, NSE, Engr. (Amb.) Mfon Udoikpong FNSE, in his address, acknowledged the contributions of Seyang Limited both in cash and material things which brought about the success story of the body, and to the landmark achievements of past and present administrations of the state.
Engr. Udoikpong noted that the NSE would be hosting the 2016 African Engineering Conference on Energy; NSE Annual General Meeting (AGM) and UNESCO African Engineering Week in November this year in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
According to him, the conference, tagged: “The Land of Promise 2016”, is organised in collaboration with the Federation of African Engineering Organisation (FAEO) and United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisations (UNESCO).
Engr. Udoikpong also stated that there will be publication of over 4000 copies special edition of NSE 2017 Calendar to commemorate the event, showcasing various activities of the State Government, corporate organisations, companies, institutions and individuals operating within and outside state.
“It is our considered opinion that the calendar will not only project our esteemed subscribers to the whole world, but will also open new vistas of opportunities in the socio-economic development of our state and nation,” Engr. Udoikpong said.
He also identified the contributions and partnership of Seyang Limited with Akwa Ibom State Government in regards to quality, safety, technical expertise as well as hard work and consistency in project delivery.
