All things being equal, the era of blackmail in Ikono Local Government Area, may soon come to an end as the chief sponsor of the scam, Hon. Victor Udofia, member representing Ikono in State Assembly on the verge of bidding farewell to People’s Democratic Party.

Our source who opted for anonymity maintained that, Udofia had in a certain location in Rivers State held a clandestine meeting with some national big wigs of the All Progressives Congress on the 16th of June, where a national chieftain from the area assured him of integrating his interest in the party.

The source further claimed that, the National officer later directed him to first pay a visit to erstwhile leader of the party in the State, Senator John James Udoedehe adding that the first and the second meeting were held at the Abuja residence of Senator Udoedehe.

Another informant who monitored the meeting of the Udoedehe/Victor Udofia’s in Abuja said that, Udofia identified his political interest in APC as holding the party ticket for Ikono/Ini Federal constituency come 2019, nothing that,  he was certain that the PDP ticket will be given to Engr. Iboro Ekanem.

It is gathered that another crucial meeting was scheduled with a strong member of the Party in Uyo, said to have held several positions in government before defecting to APC prior to 2015 gubernatorial election.

In the meeting, Udofia is said to have been assured of the ticket and other goodies, a gesture which made the Ikono State Constituency lawmaker to jump and shout APC! Change. Right inside the man’s parlour.

The elated Udofia is said to have assured his host that hence forth, he will be identifying with meetings of APC within and outside the state. This may have been the reason why he witnessed the swearing in ceremony of new MD NDDC.

A confirmed report has it that, Udofia has started using his foot soldiers to sponsor some concocted stories on the State Legal Adviser of the peoples Democratic Party, the governor and some of his opponents.
