The Akwa Ibom Young Women’s Association (AKYWA) in Diaspora has sympathised with the families of the ‘Uyo collapsed building’ victims as they journey through this difficult moment, and graciously pray for the recovery and emotional stability of the affected.
In a statement issued by women group in Diaspora and signed by Ekaette Owo (Texas), USA, “Our dear Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has clearly demonstrated to the international community that he sincerely cares for his people. His swift response, arranging rescue team and thoughtful choice of being present during evacuation is highly appreciated.
“Arranging medical help from both within and outside the country was a big step in the right direction and has yielded tremendous result. These are the kind of things we see in other organised societies and are proud to mention that his exposure in life has been of utmost relevance to the people of Akwa Abasi Ibom State.
“We thank God for saving his life in order to rescue others. Justice for victims was a great concern but as we heard his speech on carrying out thorough investigations, there is hope for the common man.
“Let us all unite and support the families in every possible way.
Corporate organisations, other State Governments, Churches/Charity Organisations, People in Diaspora, able individuals, etc should harness resources to cushion this pain.
“May God help us all & fill our hearts with love, empathy and compassion.”
